Portra Original Capture One Styles

Portra Original Capture One Styles are sensational. They brought back the joy of photo editing. It is a simple but very powerful tool. And the photos edited with them look really great.

I am writing pretty much the same review for every pack I have purchased because the sentiment holds true for all of them.

I have tried many “film look” presets in the past and nothing ever consistently worked. My photography was getting to the point where things seemed stale and just going through the motions. The Portra Original pack and many of the other Mastin Lab packs have honestly rekindled my love of photography and editing again!

This style reminds me most of the professional Vericolor film I used for weddings and portraits back in my film days! (Before Kodak bought our Portra film) The new orange reduction tool improved the colors and is even better now! Thanks for adding the orange reduction tool!

I’ve done 2 photoshoots since getting the Portra original pack and the Day and Night pack. Ive used the Natura on one that required a light and airy touch and it excelled. I used the Portra original pack on the others and primarily leaned towards the 400 and 800. Love both of these packs and they've sped up my editing two fold.

The Portrait Original style is a great addition to the Pushed version that I had purchased, already. Especially when it comes to lightening the mood of the scene and keeping the general look, having both packs ist absolutely great. Portra 400 is my most used style, but my favourite might be Portra 800. The best is that you are getting great results with the styles and the 3 step process and need to further process your images in special cases, only. Highly recommended!

Would great for images with lower contrast and highlights. I used it for portraits I also like Fuji Original.

As with the other packs, I’m blown away with how gorgeous these emulations render. Loving these!

The portra 400 style is now why I pick up my camera.

Overall, I love the colors that this pack produces. Portra 160 is subtle and moody, and I love using it indoors. Portra 400 is more vibrant and works magic on greens. I find the tones to be quite heavy handed so I tend to reduce contrast and bring up the shadows consistently (at least to my liking). Otherwise these presets are bangers.

I got this pack and the Fuji Original. It was the Fuji Original that attracted me to Mastin Labs in the first place. But, I watched several of the Mastin YouTube tutorials and concluded that this one would be a natural complement. It is. Portra has a great punchy and subdued effect that immediately adds a lot of character to photos. The pushed version looks great, but the original seems like an obvious first choice. I would have liked to see the pushed and original versions sold as a combo.

Just getting started with my first preset pack, Portra Original for Capture One, and have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the presets. Specifically, Portra 160. I love the muted colors and additional contrast it is adding to my images - it is rapidly developing into a signature style. Highly recommended!

Having grown up in the 70's/80's shooting film, I remember how film behaved shooting. I feel like Mastin Labs has done a terrific job getting these presets/styles to match film, and in this case Portra. I use Capture One 21, and have purchased the Portra Originals pack. The ease of getting my images to look like they were shot with Portr couldn't be easier. I follow the 3-step process, and in a quick minute, I have great looking images. I generally photograph about 3 to 4 weddings per year. I tried reprocessing one of my old weddings and it was very quick, using Mastin Lab methods for when I want a film look. Thank you!

I recently purchased the Portra Original Styles pack to use with Capture One. It's awesome having these as a starting point to get to the final look that I want. It makes it so easy, click on Portra 400, then adjust exposure, and white balance and done. Next up is purchasing the Fujicolor Pack. Really love using these!
