Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Mastin Labs Portra Pushed pack?
Portra Pushed is a Lightroom preset pack with six film presets — Portra 160, 400, and 800, each pushed +1 and +2 stops — plus 18 AI and specialty tools. Each preset is built from real film scans, not filters.
What makes Mastin Labs presets different from filters?
Filters apply a uniform color overlay. Mastin Labs presets are built from scans of real film rolls run through a Fuji Frontier scanner, so the color response shifts the way it would on actual film — across skin tones, highlights, and shadows.
What do +1 and +2 mean?
They refer to pushing the film one or two stops. +1 is the more flexible, cleaner take, with medium contrast and natural color. +2 pushes the shadows and color shifts further — redder, flatter shadows and a moodier, more editorial finish. Same film, two levels of push.
Do the presets work in Lightroom Mobile?
Yes. Lightroom desktop presets sync to Lightroom Mobile through Creative Cloud, so you can edit on either.
Which preset should I use?
Reach for +1 when you want a flexible, cleaner look, and +2 when you want deeper, moodier, editorial color. Across the speeds: Portra 160 is the most neutral and low-saturation, Portra 400 is warm and rich, and Portra 800 brings higher contrast and edgier shadows.
