The Mastin Labs Community Chinese Zodiac Results

Throughout 2019 we've been surveying our community to learn more about what makes us want to be photographers. We've found our Meyers-Briggs, our Adobe Creative Type and our western zodiac. It's really interesting to see the patterns that come out of these surveys! This month we did the Chinese Zodiac.

The Chinese zodiac assigns an animal and its attributes to each year in a repeating 12-year cycle. There is also an animal for your month and day but for this survey we just did the year.

The most common sign we had out of the 1,425 participants was the year of the dog. The Dog (狗) is eleventh of the 12-year cycle of animals. According to Astrology.com, the recent years of the dog are 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030.

A common thread we've seen across all of the surveys is introversion so I wasn't surprised to see it was a trait of a dog. "Dogs are animated, likable, witty, sincere, direct, cooperative, protective, helpful, and generous." All of those traits would lend themselves perfectly to being a photographer. you need all of those skills to take a beautiful portrait.
